We will be serving up a full menu of fun at our High Park location. We are thrilled to host our kids cooking classes in the fully equipped kitchen with an adjoining room for our kids cooking camp activities, plus a great green space for outdoor fun at breaks. The Runnymede Presbyterian Church is in the west end of Toronto @ 680 Annette St.; close to the intersection of Jane St. and Annette St. This location is easily accessible by both public transit and by car.

Chef Instructor’s Bio

Chef Charlotte

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts (English honours)
  • Bachelor of Education
  • Special Education Part 1

Cooking Style:

After living in Turkey for three years, I’ve completely fallen in love with the Mediterannean food. Particularly, I love to make Turkish “mezes” which are a collection of fresh small dishes served as an appetizer course.

Experiences:

After teacher’s college, I moved to Turkey and taught in a private middle school for three years. In Turkey, I developed a deep appreciation for Turkish food but I also started to miss the diversity of food that I had in Canada. As a result, I satified my cravings by starting to challenge myself to make things that I normally could buy at a grocery store in Canada (Indian paneer, french baguettes, dijon, sausages etc). Three years later, I moved to Colombia to teach fourth grade. For two years, I integrated food education with science and math for all of fourth grade. Additionally, I have over five years of restaurant experience as both a waitress and food prep cook.

Chef’s Mission:

To teach my students that cooking is something that builds strong communities and encourages lifelong learning.
