NEW to our course offerings, Perfecting Pastries is here to take your aspiring pastry chef by storm! After countless requests for a strictly teen-centered advanced pastry program, we are pleased to introduce Perfecting Pastries. Say goodbye to chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes. Instead, say hello to Croissants, Lemon Tarts, Summer Berry Sorbet and MORE! Our goal is to use their time with us to prepare recipes they would never prepare at home alone. Perfecting Pastries is all about pushing the boundaries of what young bakers can accomplish and demonstrate to the world what teens can do when they put their minds to it. In Perfecting Pastries, our campers will learn fundamental baking theories and techniques that will truly help them understand how to prepare pastries, perfectly. We will answer the “whys” behind perfect pastries like, “Why do we use baking powder vs. baking soda?” and “why do we chill our dough before baking?”, as well as, help build their skills through the hands-on preparation of 3+ recipes a day. The goal is to have our campers leave us with the knowledge and experience they need to prepare perfect pastries all on their own at home.
Although there is most definitely an emphasis of sweet recipes in this program, we will also be covering savoury recipes that will take place on Friday in preparation for our iconic pop-up restuarant, Petites Chefs.
Despite the advanced recipes preparation in this program, we welcome novices to the program. Our chefs are here to guide and assist as new campers learn all the tricks of the trade and build confidence in their abilities.
Due to the nature of this program, lunch will not be included. Please be sure to send your child with daily lunches and snacks to keep them energized throughout the day.
