Are your kids hungry for fun?

Have you been searching for something new, educational and fun to occupy your child this summer? A camp that teaches them important life skills, where they can make friends, have space to be creative, and have a blast while doing it? If so, our cooking camps, are for you.

Our lessons are always hands on, team-based and fun! Your child will leave with an abundance of new skills, increased confidence, the ability to safely navigate the kitchen and handle food, and amazing memories that will stick with them for years to come! 

By sending your little chefs to Rooks to Cooks, you'll never have to pack lunches or snacks; they'll be cooking for themselves!  If you're lucky, dinner will be covered too; at the end of each day they'll be bringing home their tasty creations to share with the family.

our pop up restaurant - Petit chefs

At the end of each week, Rooks to Cooks transforms into our world renowned pop-up restaurant, "Petit Chefs".  Here, our little chefs get to show off their new skills while they prepare and serve a 3 course tasting menu all on their own. Campers are the chefs, bartenders, hosts and servers, making this a night to remember for everyone involved. Reservations for family and friends will be taken throughout the week, with the cost of the meal being $20.00 per person. The menu changes depending on the week and will be revealed each Wednesday. Just like any restaurant, we will accommodate all allergies and food aversions. The dining experience ends with a graduation ceremony where each student is given a certificate honouring their accomplishment.

 

CAMP sESSION list

All of our camps run from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. If your schedule doesn't coincide with these times, we offer Before and after camp care for an additional cost of $18.00 per hour plus tax. Our lessons are always hands on, and with our small group sizes, our campers are guaranteed a thorough and intensive education. 

The ages listed below are suggestions, not requirements. There is a maximum of 18 students per camp, so be sure to register quickly to secure a spot for your child!

 

The Bare Bones Jr. - $475.00 plus tax
(AGES 7-10)

The Bare Bones Jr. is a full-day camp program that teaches the basic skills needed for food preparation.

This week we focus on building safe and proper knife skills, learning conventional cooking methods, as well as a wide range of cooking techniques that can be easily applied at home. In addition to the cooking skills learned during this week, campers will work with a vast variety of ingredients used in 15+ recipes. Through this experience, our campers leave with a better understanding of how to independently follow and execute recipes in their own homes.

 

The Bare Bones Sr. - $475.00 plus tax
(AGES 11+) 

The Bare Bones Sr. is a full-day camp program that teaches slightly more advanced skills needed for food preparation. What separate this week from The Bare Bones Jr. camp is simply the selection of more age-appropriate recipes.

This week we focus on building safe and proper knife skills, learning conventional cooking methods, as well as a wide range of cooking techniques that can be easily applied at home. In addition to the cooking skills learned during this week, campers will work with a vast variety of ingredients used in 15+ recipes. Through this experience, our campers leave with a better understanding of how to independently follow and execute recipes in their own homes.

 

Tots with Pots - $380.00 plus tax
4-DAY PROGRam

(AGES 5-6)

Tots with Pots is a full-day camp program for the youngest chefs-to-be.

This week our focus is on safely introducing our campers to the basic skills and cooking methods needed for preparing entry-level recipes. The skills taught in this camp are similar to those taught in The Bare Bones camps, but the pace and recipes selected are better suited for little chefs ages 5-6.

We recognize that little ones often have aversions to an array of ingredients, so this week is built around getting our campers to try new foods that they may have been intimidated by in the past and develop their palates to make home meals a little more manageable. Through our experience working with children, we have seen astounding results in this area and are confident in our ability to change the hearts of even the pickiest eaters! 

Because this week is shorter, there will be no Friday night pop-up restaurant. However, a full celebratory graduation ceremony will still take place, sure to be a proud and memorable experience for all.  

 

Baking for beginners - $380.00 plus tax
4-DAY PROGRam

(ages 5-6)

Baking for beginners is a fun and delicious full-day camp program for the youngest of the pastry chefs out there!

This week, our campers will learn the basics of both sweet and savory baking by working through 10+ Recipes. Our campers will learn how to make a wide range of baked goods inclusive of savory items, such as breads, pizzas, scones, and casseroles, and sweet items like cakes, cookies, tarts and more! Our campers will also learn basic decorating skills as they explore various decorating tools and materials while baking and assembling a beautiful 3-layered cake from start to finish!

This week is meant for the little ones that show an interest in baking and want to have loads of fun while building their skills in the pastry arts!

Because this week is shorter, there will be no Friday night pop-up restaurant. However, a full celebratory graduation ceremony will still take place, sure to be a proud and memorable experience for all.  

 

Budding Bakers Jr. - $475.00 plus tax
(Ages 7-10)

Budding Bakers Jr. is a fun and intensive full-day baking camp for those who show a particular interest in the pastry arts.

This week is jam-packed with 20+ savoury and sweet recipes and teaches a wide range of baking techniques and skills. The campers will work on savory items in the morning and sweet items in the afternoon, and will learn everything from breads to ice cream!

Budding Bakers Sr. - $475.00 plus tax
(Ages 11+)

Budding Bakers Sr. is a fun and intensive full-day baking camp for those who show a particular interest in the pastry arts. What separate this week from the Budding Bakers Jr. camp is simply the selection of more age and skill-appropriate recipes. 

This week is jam-packed with 20+ savoury and sweet recipes and teaches a wide range of baking techniques and skills. The week is structured with savory items in the morning and sweet items in the afternoon. The campers will work on savory items in the morning and sweet items in the afternoon and will learn everything from breads to ice cream!

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Desserts - $380.00 plus tax

4-DAY PROGRam
(aGES 5-6)

Our Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks camp teaches our campers skills and recipes to make every meal of the day, all on their own! It is perfect for aspiring cooks of any age who want to begin collecting or expanding on their knowledge of food preparation.

Tuesday focuses on breakfast foods, Wednesday lunch items, Thursday dinner entrees, and Friday on snacks. Because this week is shorter, there will be no Friday night pop-up restaurant. However, a full celebratory graduation ceremony will still take place, sure to be a proud and memorable experience for all. Following graduation, our campers will have recipes for every meal of the day tucked away in their back pocket to confidently use at home. 

 

AROUND THE WORLD - $475.00 plus tax
(AGES 7-10)

Around the World is an exciting, mouth-watering week that takes our campers on a 5-day adventure, visiting some of the most iconic food cultures in the world.

This week, we teach our students proper knife skills, conventional cooking methods and cooking techniques through 20+ traditional recipes from many different parts of the world. In addition to the cooking skills learned during this week, campers will work with a large variety of ingredients, leaving with a better understanding of how to independently execute recipes.

aROUND THE wORLD - fIRST CLASS - $475.00 plus tax
(Ages 11+)

Around the World First Class is a more challenging and daring addition to our Original Around the world program. In our First class program our students will take a 5-day adventure, visiting some of the most iconic food cultures in the world. 

This week, we teach our students proper knife skills, conventional cooking methods and cooking techniques through 20+ traditional recipes from many different parts of the world. In addition to the cooking skills learned during this week, campers will work with a large variety of ingredients, leaving with a better understanding of how to independently execute recipes.

Master Chef - $475.00 plus tax
(Ages 10+)

Master Chef is a full-day camp program where our students learn to cook with their hearts more than their heads! It is suggested (not mandated) that our Master Chef students complete one of our entry-level camps prior to registration, to learn the basic skills of the kitchen before hand. 

This week teaches our campers more advanced cooking techniques, helping them to build their knowledge and skill in the culinary arts. Emphasis on plating and dish composition is in full force! This week encourages our campers to be creative and free in the kitchen, building their confidence, and helping them find their unique style. This will be achieved through black box challenges and group recipe development exercises, only offered by Rooks To Cooks.
