Course Description

June 29 – July 3   *CAMP WILL BE CLOSED JULY 1*

Objective: To spark a love of cooking and food in our youngest chefs. They will develop their palate and explore new flavours while learning the basics of food preparation, as well as where their food comes from. Following this program, our students will be excited to help out in the kitchen at home and experiment with new foods.

This week of food fun is built around teaching your child to navigate a kitchen safely while learning new recipes, practicing new skills, trying new foods and developing their palates in the process! Due to the age of the participating campers, we will not be using equipment with inherent risk, such as knives or gas burners. Instead, we will focus on teaching them how to utilize all other kitchen equipment and accomplish low risk tasks, such as measuring, mixing, kneading and assembling, preparing them for future growth in this area.

Leaving the program, your chef-in-the-making will not only know how to navigate a kitchen safely and use a wide range of new tools, but they will also leave inspired to participate in cooking at home, and get their hands on some new vegetables and fruits.

The best part: here at Rooks to Cooks, we believe food is meant to be shared! At the end of each day, your chef-in-training will bring home portions of their daily creations to share with you and your family.

  • Due to the nature of the program a cut safe glove will not be included in this session

  • Due to the shortened week this session will not have a Pop Up Restaurant
